Description

There are 61 Mentally Retarded children between the age group of 6 to 18 years in 4 classes i.e. Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary and Pre-vocational with 5 Specially Trained teachers to teach them and train them as per the guidelines given by the Govt. of India. The class room teachings include following.

  • Activities of daily living
  • Basic concepts.
  • Functional academic skills.
  • Domestic skills.
  • Speech Therapy.
  • Physio-Therapy.
  • Behavioral Medication.
  • Yoga Therapies.
  • Music & Dance Training.
  • Sports Training

Every effort is being made to achieve the goal. A Holistic approach is adopted to teach and train a child catering not only to the needs of the disabled child but also its entire family.

Parent-teacher interactions occur on a fortnightly basis, while meetings and trainings sessions for parents are conducted once in two months. Parents are encouraged to seek help from the Special educators/special teachers for any of their problems.
